A welcome visit to Manchester by Memphis rockers Tav Falco's Panther Burns who's unique blend of blues, country and rock music is cited by many bands including Primal Scream as an important influence.
Saint Motel on a winter night in Manchester just before they started to take off!
These are the latest photos from Jah Wobble, performing live at Sound Control in Manchester on Friday 5th June.
A Wednesday night in Liverpool courtesy of Cherry Red Records was a great night to see the legendary Fall. Promoting their 31st album Sub-Lingual Tablet the band sounded great and Mark E. Smith was on top form joking with the audience. Great to capture such an iconic band at the top of their game.
Following the release of their debut album 5am, Amber Run, a Nottingham based band tipped for great things, returned to Manchester to play to a sold out crowd at Sound Control on 30th April.
Lead vocalist Joe Keogh's energy was infectious, and it was great fun photographing his emotive expressions. Performing hits such as Noah, Spark and Pilot, it's easy to see why Amber Run were tipped for success as one of XFM's Great X-Pectations in 2014.
Drawing comparisons to both Bastille and Mumford & Sons, Amber Run have already supported Kodaline on a national tour, and now continue to travel the UK on their own headline tour.
It would be great to see them back in Manchester again some time soon, to photograph them at a larger venue.
Growing up in Manchester in the 1980's as a twenty something year old, it was hard not to love The Smiths. I never stopped being a fan since the release of their debut album. I travelled around the world to see Morrissey perform, but it wasn't until recently that I had the chance to see and photograph The Smiths alternative frontman, Johnny Marr.
Marr's stunning solo career has allowed him to truly step out from the shadows behind Morrissey and show fans what he's capable of, with two fantastic albums already under his belt.
On stage, he's a true performer, strutting his stuff for the crowd and entertaining like the best of them. I've been fortunate enough to photograph Johnny Marr on two occasions now, once at Camp Bestival, and once when he was touring the country in Sheffield. It's was an incredible experience each time.
